After reviewing flood damage and ongoing relief operations in the Kasur sector and Jalalpur Pirwala area of Multan, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has arrived in Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, to assess ongoing security operations in the region.

According to security sources, the Army Chief is on an important visit to Bannu, where he is expected to be joined by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The joint visit underscores the growing coordination between military and political leadership amid rising security challenges.

Officials say the visit will include a comprehensive review of ongoing counter-terrorism operations in the region, with key decisions expected regarding future strategy against militant threats.

The high-level engagement comes shortly after a recent terrorist attack on an FC camp in Bannu, in which all six attackers were neutralized. Security sources confirmed that three of the assailants were foreign nationals from neighboring Afghanistan. Tragically, six security personnel, including Major Adnan Aslam, embraced martyrdom during the operation, and more than ten others were injured.

Major Adnan Aslam’s bravery, sacrifice, and leadership during the confrontation have been widely acknowledged, while his family has become a symbol of unwavering patience and resilience.

The visit by the civil and military leadership signals Pakistan’s continued resolve to combat terrorism and ensure stability in the region.
