Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman have reaffirmed their commitment to continued cooperation under the Makkah Defense Cooperation Pact to jointly counter attacks targeting civilian and economic infrastructure in Saudi Arabia.
The commitment was reiterated during a meeting between Field Marshal Asim Munir and Prince Khalid bin Salman in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, where the two leaders discussed matters of mutual interest, including the Makkah Defense Cooperation Pact.
During the meeting, the two sides appreciated the outcomes of the meeting of chiefs of armed forces of the countries participating in the Makkah Defense Cooperation Pact.
They also discussed attacks targeting Makkah and civilian and economic infrastructure across Saudi Arabia, reaffirming their resolve to continue cooperation under the pact to collectively address such threats.
The meeting underscored the shared commitment of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia to strengthening defense cooperation and coordinating their efforts to counter attacks against vital infrastructure.
Several senior Saudi officials also attended the meeting, including Minister of State, Member of the Council of Ministers and National Security Adviser Dr. Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban; Chief of the General Staff General Fayyad bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili; and Defense Minister’s Adviser for Intelligence Affairs Hisham bin Abdulaziz bin Saif.
