A security guard deployed to protect an Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) facility was shot dead by terrorists of the proscribed group in Lakki Marwat, according to local sources.
The incident took place in Bahram Khel village, where armed attackers opened fire on Sepoy Ihsanullah, son of Anwarullah. He sustained critical injuries in the attack and was killed.
Ihsanullah was affiliated with the Birga Force and had been assigned security duties at OGDCL installations in the area. He was a resident of Ratanzai, Betani, Jandola.
The attack on a security official deployed at an energy installation highlights the persistent security threat facing personnel protecting vital infrastructure in southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Energy facilities and the personnel guarding them remain potential targets for terrorist and criminal networks seeking to disrupt economic activity and intimidate those working in sensitive areas.
