The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has categorically rejected as misleading, false and baseless the recent statement issued by Afghan Taliban regime spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid, in which he attempted to link Pakistan and the Pakistan Army with the ongoing armed clashes in Badakhshan, Afghanistan.
According to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the claim regarding the presence of the Pakistan Army in the armed confrontation in Badakhshan is completely unfounded and lacks any factual basis. The statement has been described as an attempt to divert attention from the internal security and administrative challenges confronting the Afghan Taliban regime.
The Ministry made it clear that the violence and armed clashes reported in Badakhshan are a reflection of Afghanistan’s own internal security and governance challenges. Such developments should not be misrepresented through unfounded allegations against Pakistan or used as a means of shifting responsibility for Afghanistan’s internal instability.
The Ministry further stated that the clashes represent internal armed resistance against the Taliban regime, rather than any externally orchestrated activity involving Pakistan. Attempts to attribute Afghanistan’s internal security problems to Pakistan are misleading and serve only to obscure the realities on the ground.
Pakistan has consistently supported the objective of a peaceful, stable and secure Afghanistan. As a neighboring country, Pakistan has repeatedly maintained that lasting peace in Afghanistan is in the best interest of the Afghan people as well as regional stability and security.
Pakistan has no interest whatsoever in destabilizing its neighboring country. On the contrary, Pakistan has consistently advocated peace, stability, constructive engagement and a secure environment in Afghanistan. Any narrative suggesting otherwise is contrary to Pakistan’s longstanding position and policy.
The Ministry emphasized that the Afghan Taliban regime should focus its attention on addressing the growing internal security, administrative and governance challenges within Afghanistan instead of resorting to unfounded allegations against Pakistan.
The continued use of misleading statements and accusations cannot conceal the internal nature of the challenges facing Afghanistan. Efforts to shift blame onto a neighboring country neither address the underlying causes of instability nor contribute to peace and regional security.
Pakistan remains committed to the principle of peaceful coexistence and regional stability and believes that Afghanistan’s challenges must be addressed through responsible governance, effective security measures and a genuine focus on the welfare and security of the Afghan people.
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has therefore urged the Afghan Taliban regime to refrain from irresponsible propaganda and baseless allegations and to concentrate on resolving the issues contributing to insecurity and instability within Afghanistan.
