Security forces have successfully foiled an attempt by Khawarij elements to establish an unlawful roadblock in Kharan, thwarting their efforts to intimidate civilians, disrupt movement and carry out roadside looting.
According to available information, the Khawarij had attempted to create a roadblock at a location in Kharan with the apparent intention of harassing members of the public, restricting civilian movement and subjecting travelers to robbery and intimidation. Their attempt, however, was swiftly detected and met with a timely and decisive response by the security forces.
The prompt intervention of the security personnel disrupted the Khawarij’s plans and prevented them from carrying out their intended activities. Faced with the effective action of the security forces, the Khawarij were forced to abandon their position and flee the area, leaving their attempt to terrorize and exploit local civilians unsuccessful.
The incident once again demonstrates that attempts by hostile elements to create fear, obstruct public movement or exploit local communities will not be allowed to succeed. The security forces remain fully alert and continue to maintain a strong security posture across the region to protect the public and safeguard vital routes and installations.
The Khawarij may seek to portray themselves through short social-media videos and online propaganda as a force capable of intimidating the population. However, such propaganda stands in stark contrast to the reality on the ground. Their attempt in Kharan was swiftly disrupted when confronted by the alertness and operational readiness of the security forces.
The incident also highlights the increasingly important role of information warfare and social-media propaganda in the activities of hostile elements. Carefully staged footage and online narratives are intended to create a false impression of influence and control. The events in Kharan, however, demonstrate that propaganda cannot substitute for capability on the ground.
The security forces remain committed to ensuring the safety, freedom of movement and dignity of the people of Balochistan. Any attempt by the Khawarij to establish illegal roadblocks, intimidate civilians, disrupt transportation or use public spaces for criminal and coercive activities will be met with a firm and effective response.
The people of Kharan and across Balochistan can remain assured that security forces are maintaining heightened vigilance and operational preparedness to counter hostile activities and prevent elements seeking to destabilize the region from gaining space or influence.
The successful disruption of the attempted roadblock is yet another indication that there is no safe space for Khawarij elements to intimidate the public or operate with impunity on the soil of Balochistan.
