Security forces conducted a major intelligence-led operation in the Kanduri area of Tehsil Bara, Khyber District, resulting in the killing of 18 Fitna-al-Khawarij and the arrest of 2 others, officials confirmed.
According to security sources, the operation was launched on credible intelligence regarding the presence of armed elements belonging to Fitna-al-Khawarij. The targeted action was carried out by special units of the security forces in a coordinated engagement aimed at eliminating threats to regional peace and stability.
Officials stated that 18 individuals identified as members of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were neutralized during the operation. Two suspects were taken into custody.
Security sources further confirmed that one additional militant was captured alive during a follow-up sweep earlier today. During preliminary questioning, the detained individual reportedly stated that all 18 of his associates were eliminated in the previous day’s special forces operation, while he survived.

Authorities said the action is part of ongoing intelligence-based counterterrorism operations aimed at dismantling armed networks operating in the region. Officials emphasized that the operation was executed with precision to ensure maximum operational effectiveness against armed elements while minimizing risk to civilians.
Security agencies have intensified operations across Khyber District and surrounding areas as part of a sustained effort to eliminate militant hideouts and disrupt organizational structures linked to Fitna-al-Khawarij. Authorities reiterated that such operations will continue until all remaining threats are neutralized and lasting peace is restored in the region.
Officials stated that the latest operation reflects the resolve of security forces to ensure stability and prevent any attempt to destabilize the region. They reaffirmed that state institutions remain fully committed to protecting civilians and strengthening internal security.
