In a successful intelligence-based operation, security forces eliminated four India-sponsored and Afghan-backed terrorists linked to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), also referred to as Fitna al-Khawarij, in the border area of Darra Tang near the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa–Punjab boundary.
According to police officials, the operation was conducted on actionable intelligence, leading to a fierce exchange of fire between security personnel and the terrorists. All four terrorists were killed during the encounter.
Authorities said a cache of weapons and ammunition was recovered from the slain terrorists, indicating their involvement in planned terrorist activities.
Punjab Police reaffirmed its resolve to continue operations against terrorism, vowing to dismantle networks of extremist elements and ensure the safety and security of citizens.
Officials emphasized that such intelligence-based operations are crucial in preventing potential attacks and maintaining stability, particularly in sensitive border regions adjoining Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
