Security forces eliminated four terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Khwarij and injured eight others during an intelligence-based operation in the remote Tirah Valley of Khyber district, security sources said.

The operation was launched in the Akakhel area after security forces received actionable intelligence about the presence of Khwarij terrorists. Troops moved swiftly to the location and began cordoning off the area to contain the suspects.

The terrorists opened fire after detecting the presence of security personnel, triggering an exchange of fire. Four terrorists were killed and eight others were injured during the engagement, according to security sources.

One of the dead terrorists was identified as Habib Afridi Shalobar, a resident of Bara, the sources said. The identities of the other casualties were not immediately available.

Security forces continued pursuing the remaining terrorists as a search operation was launched in the surrounding area. The area was cordoned off to prevent the suspects from escaping and to locate any other individuals linked to the group.

The operation comes amid continued counterterrorism efforts in Khyber district, where security forces are targeting terrorist networks and pursuing individuals suspected of involvement in attacks and other violent activities.

Security officials reiterated their resolve to continue operations until the terrorist threat is eliminated.
