A resident of Turbat has publicly announced his complete dissociation from the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), expressing regret over his past affiliation and declaring that he will have no future association with the organization.
In a video statement, Aqeel Ahmed, son of Rafiq Ahmed and a resident of the Sangani area of Turbat, said he was making the declaration of his own free will and in full possession of his senses.
“I announce my complete dissociation from BYC. I regret any past affiliation with the organization and declare that I will have no connection with it in the future,” the statement read.
The declaration comes amid growing scrutiny of the organization following a series of security operations in Balochistan, during which security agencies have alleged links between certain BYC activists and the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), referred to by Pakistani authorities as Fitna al-Hindustan.
In recent months, security officials have claimed that investigations and interrogations of arrested suspects, as well as evidence recovered during intelligence-based operations, revealed that several individuals associated with BYC were allegedly involved in facilitating or supporting militant activities. Authorities have also alleged that some terrorists eliminated in security operations were found to have maintained links with BYC, while some individuals detained on security-related charges were identified as active operatives or facilitators of the banned BLA.
Pakistani security officials have repeatedly maintained that militant groups have sought to exploit certain civil and political platforms for recruitment, logistics, propaganda and operational support. The allegations have been rejected by BYC, which has denied having organizational links with any banned militant outfit.
The latest public declaration of dissociation adds to a series of similar announcements made by individuals in different parts of Balochistan in recent months, in which former associates have distanced themselves from the organization and pledged not to maintain any future affiliation.
Authorities say investigations into militant networks and their alleged support structures remain ongoing as security forces continue intelligence-based operations aimed at dismantling terrorist infrastructure and facilitators across the province.
