In a powerful address during the passing-out parade at Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Kakul, Field Marshal Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), emphasized Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to its national defence, rejecting any form of aggression against the country. The Field Marshal reaffirmed that Pakistan’s territorial integrity is inviolable and that no force will ever take even an inch of the country’s land.
Defiant Stand on National Defense
Field Marshal Munir’s statement underscored the professional prowess and resilience of Pakistan’s military forces, who have successfully countered both internal and external threats. “I assure the nation that, with the help of Allah and the support of our people, we will not let any inch of our land be taken,” the COAS declared, reinforcing the message that Pakistan’s defence is unwavering.
The military leadership highlighted Pakistan’s continuous efforts in combating hostile forces, especially the ongoing threats posed by India and the use of Afghan soil for launching cross-border terrorism. Pakistan’s defence strategies have been recently tested in a significant operation, “Ma’araka-e-Haq”, where the armed forces demonstrated their superiority, further strengthening national trust in the military’s capability.
Call for Action on Indian-Backed Proxies
One of the pivotal moments in the Field Marshal’s address was his direct appeal to the Taliban regime in Afghanistan. He urged them to take effective action against the Indian-backed proxies operating from Afghan soil, who have been responsible for various terror attacks in Pakistan, particularly targeting vulnerable regions like Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. “The Taliban must rein in these forces, which continue to undermine the security of Pakistan and the broader region,” Field Marshal Munir stated, emphasising the urgency of stabilising Afghanistan and ensuring that it does not become a launchpad for destabilizing activities against neighboring countries.
The statement comes amid growing concerns over the rise in violence attributed to these proxy forces, particularly after the Taliban’s return to power. While Pakistan has long supported peace and stability in Afghanistan, the continued threat of cross-border terrorism is a major concern for the country’s national security.
Pakistan’s Resolve in the Face of External Aggression
Field Marshal Munir also took the opportunity to address India’s recent provocations, calling out the false accusations made by the Indian government against Pakistan. He specifically rejected India’s baseless claims, reiterating Pakistan’s position that these accusations were politically motivated and aimed at destabilizing the region.
Despite India’s attempts to deflect from its own actions, such as its continued military occupation of Kashmir, Pakistan’s forces have remained resolute. The COAS stressed that, “Pakistan’s young men and women, standing shoulder to shoulder with our military, have proven that the bond between the people and the armed forces is unbreakable and invincible.”
National Unity and Strength in Adversity
Field Marshal Munir also honoured the sacrifices of those who have given their lives in the defence of the homeland. He praised the resolve of the Pakistan Army, Navy, and Air Force, along with law enforcement agencies and civilians who have stood firm in the face of adversity. In his address, the COAS saluted those who have fallen in the battle against terrorism and praised the courage of the Pakistani people, who have been instrumental in the fight for peace and security.
In a broader sense, the Field Marshal reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to its allies and its role in global peacekeeping. He specifically noted the importance of Pakistan’s partnership with Saudi Arabia in ensuring regional security, as well as the nation’s growing strategic relationships with other Muslim countries and China. The recent defence pact with Saudi Arabia was hailed as a landmark agreement, reinforcing ties and ensuring the protection of the Holy Sites in Mecca and Medina.
Pakistan’s Diplomatic and Military Leadership
Field Marshal Munir also acknowledged the critical role played by Pakistan in various diplomatic efforts, including peace talks in Gaza and the country’s engagement with Iran to ease tensions in the region. He stated that Pakistan would continue to foster stability, not only in the region but also globally, by actively participating in international peace efforts.
On Kashmir, the COAS reiterated that Pakistan’s position on the dispute remains clear and unwavering. “The Kashmir issue must be resolved in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people and international law, particularly the UN Security Council resolutions,” he emphasized.
Recognition of Excellence in Training
The PMA Kakul passing-out parade marked the culmination of training for cadets from multiple Pakistani courses as well as from several friendly nations. Cadets from countries like Sri Lanka, Iraq, Nigeria, Nepal, Palestine, Bangladesh, Mali, and Qatar successfully completed their training at Pakistan’s prestigious military academy. The event was a testament to Pakistan’s international military standing and the trust placed in its training programs.
The parade also witnessed the presentation of several prestigious awards, including the Sword of Honour, awarded to the top cadet, Academy Senior Under Officer Ahmed Mujtaba Arif Raja, and the President’s Gold Medal to Battalion Senior Under Officer Zohair Hussain. These distinctions reflect the dedication and professionalism exhibited by the cadets, who are now poised to serve their countries and uphold the values of discipline and service.
As the ceremony concluded, Field Marshal Munir’s words resonated with a sense of duty, sacrifice, and national pride. He reminded the cadets, “Today, you embark on a new journey, a journey of service to your nation. Let the core values of discipline, honour, and commitment guide your every step. Remember, you are the future of your country.”
His message was clear and resolute—Pakistan stands strong, both diplomatically and militarily, and will not allow any force to infringe upon its sovereignty. The military’s dedication, combined with the unity of the people, ensures that the nation remains secure against all external and internal threats.
