Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, visited Zhob District in Balochistan on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha to spend the day with frontline troops deployed along Pakistan’s western frontier, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The visit commenced with Eid prayers alongside serving personnel, where special supplications were offered for the peace, stability, and prosperity of Pakistan, as well as for the martyrs (Shuhada) who rendered the ultimate sacrifice in the defence of the homeland.
Extending Eid greetings to officers and soldiers, the Field Marshal lauded the exceptional professionalism, operational readiness, and unwavering resolve of troops serving in a high-threat environment marked by persistent terrorist activity and cross-border security challenges. He commended the armed forces for maintaining constant vigilance and demonstrating steadfast commitment in the face of evolving security threats.
During his interaction with personnel, the Field Marshal paid rich tribute to the sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces, acknowledging their courage in countering terrorism and safeguarding national sovereignty against hostile and externally supported threats. He emphasized that the dedication of the troops continues to remain a cornerstone of national defence.
Referring to a recent terrorist incident in Quetta attributed to what was described as Indian-sponsored “Fitna-al-Hindustan” and its affiliated networks, the Field Marshal reiterated that such acts of violence and brutality are incapable of undermining the morale or determination of Pakistan’s armed forces and the nation at large. He stated that the resolve of the security forces remains firm and unshaken in the pursuit of peace and stability.
He further reaffirmed that Pakistan’s armed forces, in close coordination with law enforcement agencies and the people of Balochistan, will continue sustained and comprehensive efforts to identify, pursue, and dismantle all facilitators, abettors, and perpetrators of terrorism without exception.
Upon arrival in Zhob, the Field Marshal was received by the Commander Quetta Corps. As part of the visit, he also laid a floral wreath at the Yadgar-e-Shuhada and offered fateha, paying solemn tribute to the martyrs who embraced Shahadat in the line of duty while defending the country.
The visit underscores the military leadership’s continued focus on frontline engagement, troop morale, and operational preparedness along Pakistan’s western borders, where security forces remain actively engaged in counterterrorism operations under challenging conditions.
ISPR stated that such engagements reflect the enduring bond between military leadership and field formations, reinforcing unity of purpose in safeguarding national security and territorial integrity.
