Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand called on Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, at General Headquarters (GHQ), Rawalpindi.
During the meeting, matters related to bilateral relations, regional security, defence cooperation, and issues of mutual interest were discussed.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir highlighted Pakistan’s perspective on global peace and regional stability, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts and enhanced cooperation to address shared security challenges.
The visiting dignitary appreciated Pakistan’s continued efforts and sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, as well as its constructive role in promoting peace and stability in the region.
Both sides reiterated their commitment to further strengthening Pakistan-Canada relations and expanding engagement in defence and security domains.
The meeting reflected continued bilateral engagement between the two countries on regional and international security matters.
