Security forces eliminated eight terrorists, including a suicide bomber, during two separate intelligence-based operations in Balochistan’s Kharan and Mastung districts, recovering a cache of weapons, explosives, and motorcycles used by the terrorists, the military’s media wing said.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operations were conducted on June 25 and 26 after intelligence reports identified terrorist activity in the two districts.

The first operation was carried out on June 25 in Kharan, where security forces targeted the movement of terrorists based on credible intelligence. During the ensuing engagement, three terrorists were eliminated, while several others were believed to have sustained injuries and fled the area.

In the second operation, conducted on June 26 in the Killi Padah area of Mastung, security forces acted on intelligence indicating the presence of a suspected suicide bomber. The pre-emptive intelligence-based operation led to an intense exchange of fire, resulting in the elimination of five terrorists, including the suspected suicide bomber, according to the ISPR.

The military’s media wing said the operations also led to the recovery of a significant cache of weapons, ammunition, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and motorcycles being used by the terrorists, indicating preparations for future terrorist activities.

The ISPR said clearance operations remain underway in the affected areas to locate and eliminate or apprehend any remaining terrorists and their facilitators. It added that Pakistan’s security forces, in coordination with law enforcement agencies, remain committed to continuing operations against terrorist organizations until the threat is completely eradicated.

The successful operations underscore the continued emphasis on intelligence-driven counterterrorism efforts aimed at disrupting terrorist networks before they can execute attacks, particularly through the timely neutralization of suicide bombers and the seizure of explosives intended for use against civilian and security targets.
