CTD Operation Leaves 9 Terrorists Dead, 4 Personnel Martyred in Fierce Clash in Quetta

The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) conducted a major intelligence-based operation in the outskirts of Quetta, including the Panjpai and Nohsar areas, resulting in the killing of nine terrorists following a fierce exchange of fire.

According to a CTD spokesperson, the operation was launched on credible intelligence regarding the presence of a terrorist network operating in the region. The objective of the operation was to dismantle the network and prevent any potential acts of terrorism in the area.

During the intense firefight, four CTD personnel embraced martyrdom, while six others sustained injuries. The injured personnel were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital, where they are receiving medical treatment.

The spokesperson confirmed that the encounter involved heavy gunfire from both sides, as security forces engaged the terrorists in a sustained operation. Following the successful neutralisation of nine terrorists, a search and clearance operation is still underway in the surrounding areas to ensure the complete elimination of any remaining threat.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid rich tribute to the four martyred CTD personnel, expressing deep condolences and solidarity with their families. He stated that the brave officers sacrificed their lives in the line of duty and successfully foiled the nefarious designs of terrorists.

The Interior Minister further lauded the CTD Balochistan for eliminating nine terrorists described as being involved in hostile and externally sponsored activities. He reaffirmed that the sacrifices of the martyrs will always be remembered and acknowledged as a cornerstone in the fight against terrorism.

He also extended prayers for the swift recovery of the injured personnel and directed that they be provided with the best possible medical care.
