A key commander of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, Maulvi Abdullah alias Abu Bakr, has come under intense focus following a precision airstrike in Afghanistan’s Kunar province, with conflicting reports emerging over his fate.
Local Afghan sources initially claimed that Abu Bakr was eliminated in the strike carried out in the Chogan area, where suspected terrorist hideouts were targeted. However, independent sources now suggest he was wounded and shifted to an undisclosed medical facility, leaving his final status unconfirmed.
At the same time, multiple local accounts indicate that over 20 terrorists were eliminated in the operation, including associates and other individuals present at the targeted location.
Sources familiar with the development described the strike as highly precise, saying multiple designated targets were engaged in a coordinated manner.
