Terrorists targeted civilian economic infrastructure in Balochistan once again after setting six tankers ablaze in the Nushki district, in what observers describe as another attempt to disrupt livelihoods, intimidate local communities, and undermine economic activity in the province.
According to local sources, the incident occurred in the Mal area beyond Nushki, where armed terrorists opened fire on a convoy of tankers before setting the vehicles on fire.
Witnesses said the attackers first targeted the tankers with gunfire and subsequently torched the vehicles, resulting in all six tankers being completely destroyed.
The attack triggered panic in the area, while security forces and law enforcement personnel rushed to the scene and launched an investigation. Authorities have begun collecting evidence and are working to determine the identity of those involved.
No loss of life has been reported so far. However, the attackers managed to flee the area before security personnel arrived.
Officials said investigations are underway to establish the motive behind the attack and identify the terrorists responsible.
Security analysts note that attacks on transport vehicles, passenger buses, communication infrastructure, and commercial assets have increasingly been used by terrorist organizations operating in Balochistan as part of efforts to damage economic activity and create insecurity among local populations.
In recent months, terrorists have repeatedly targeted civilian infrastructure, transport networks, and development-related assets across various districts of the province. Analysts argue that such attacks are intended not only to inflict financial losses but also to discourage investment, disrupt trade routes, and undermine development initiatives aimed at improving living conditions for local communities.
Observers say the destruction of commercial vehicles directly affects drivers, transport workers, contractors, and numerous families whose livelihoods depend on economic activity along key transit routes.
Security officials maintain that terrorist organizations have increasingly resorted to attacks against soft economic targets after facing sustained pressure from security forces in intelligence-based operations across the province.
Authorities reiterated their commitment to pursuing those responsible and emphasized that efforts to eliminate terrorist networks and safeguard public infrastructure will continue until lasting peace and stability are restored in Balochistan.
