Another local leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) was martyred after terrorists opened fire in Bannu’s Sub-Division Wazir, sources said.
The attack took place in the Dariyuba area, where armed attackers targeted JUI-F leader Malik Zai Ali Rehman. He sustained critical injuries in the firing and was later martyred.
The attackers fled the scene after the assault. A search operation was launched in the surrounding area to trace the perpetrators, while security personnel also began collecting evidence from the site.
The motive behind the attack was not immediately clear. No group has claimed responsibility for the killing so far.
The assassination comes amid continued terrorist violence targeting political figures, security personnel and civilians in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
