The headmaster of Government High School Sardad Khan in Bannu, who was abducted by terrorists from the school premises earlier in the day, has safely returned home, according to local sources.
Headmaster Nisar was reportedly taken away by armed individuals after they entered the school premises during school hours. CCTV footage that surfaced following the incident showed armed men escorting the headmaster from the school, triggering concern among residents and the education community.
The abduction had prompted an immediate response from police and security agencies, which launched efforts to trace the kidnappers and secure the safe recovery of the abducted educator.
According to sources, Headmaster Nisar returned home safely later the same day. Details regarding the circumstances of his release have not yet been officially disclosed.
Authorities are continuing investigations to determine the identity of those involved, their motives, and the sequence of events that led to the headmaster’s release.
The incident had sparked concern across the district, particularly given the history of terrorist threats against educational institutions and public servants in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
