Fazlur Rehman Slams Indian Aggression, Warns of Regional Destabilisation and Urges National Vigilance

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has strongly condemned India’s unprovoked aggression following the Pahalgam incident, warning that New Delhi’s reckless actions have pushed the region toward dangerous instability. He accused the Indian government of exploiting the tragedy to launch a series of unjustified attacks on Pakistani territory, targeting civilian areas and religious institutions, resulting in the martyrdom of innocent women, children, and ordinary citizens.

“Within minutes of the Pahalgam incident, India hastily blamed Pakistan without investigation and began indiscriminate rocket attacks on our religious seminaries, followed by strikes on our airbases,” he stated. Maulana Fazl said these provocative acts reflect India’s frustration and internal political decline, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popularity plummets within his own country.

He said Modi, having lost credibility among Indian voters and facing rejection in Kashmir elections, attempted to revive his fading image by resorting to war hysteria and Hindutva-driven militarism. “Modi’s efforts to inflame communal sentiments and rally support through the Hindutva card have failed. Even Indian Muslims, Sikhs, and the political opposition have refused to support his belligerent posture,” he added.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman lauded the unity and resilience of the Pakistani nation, saying that in the face of India’s hostility, the public stood firmly with the armed forces. “Pakistan’s military not only defended the country with unmatched bravery but inflicted a crushing defeat on the aggressor. India’s technological superiority was humiliated, and its fighter jets were shot down by our valiant forces,” he said, attributing the success to divine support and national solidarity.

He praised Saudi Arabia’s commendable diplomatic efforts in securing a ceasefire but cautioned that peace remains fragile. “India cannot be trusted. The ceasefire exists only on paper. Our forces must stay alert and ready to deliver a crushing response if India attempts any further misadventure,” he said.

The JUI-F chief exposed India’s expansionist ambitions, warning that New Delhi seeks to disrupt the strategic partnership between Pakistan and China. “India dreams of extending its control beyond Muzaffarabad to Gilgit-Baltistan. This reflects a dangerous mindset that threatens the entire region,” he said.

Commenting on internal security, he said that unrest in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa must be addressed with sensitivity and justice. “When the federal government mishandles issues such as water rights or resource legislation, it breeds internal discontent. And internal instability compromises our national defense,” he warned.

On the issue of enforced disappearances, he said, “If anyone is accused of wrongdoing, the state must follow the law—register FIRs, present the accused in courts, and conduct fair trials. National security cannot be achieved by ignoring constitutional justice.”

Regarding Afghanistan, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said Pakistan must strengthen diplomatic, political, and economic cooperation with Kabul. “Terrorist infiltration from Afghan soil remains a concern. While the Afghan government does not endorse these activities, it lacks the strength and structure to control its territory or manage its borders effectively,” he said.

He concluded by calling for continued national unity and preparedness in the face of India’s aggressive and destabilizing behavior. “The time demands that we remain united, vigilant, and unwavering. India’s reckless pursuit of dominance must be resisted with strength, clarity, and national cohesion.”
