Three Indian Drones Shot Down Over Rawalpindi; Civilian Critically Injured

A major security breach occurred in Rawalpindi as three Indian drones were brought down over the city in separate incidents, triggering alarm among residents and prompting swift action by law enforcement and intelligence agencies.

According to police sources, the drones crashed in the areas of Sadar Rumi Road, Race Course Transit Camp, and Scheme-III. One of the drones fell near Food Street, critically injuring a civilian who was immediately shifted to the hospital for emergency treatment. Witnesses reported that the drones remained airborne for several minutes before being intercepted.

Security forces swiftly cordoned off the affected locations and launched a joint investigation to determine the origin and objectives of the drones. Forensic teams are examining the wreckage, while surveillance has been intensified across sensitive zones.

Elsewhere in the country, similar drone incursions were reported. In Zafarwal’s Tarapur area, a drone was intercepted, while another crashed in Chakwal’s Dhman region near Diwaliyan without causing any injuries. Gujranwala also reported the downing of an Indian drone within its limits.

In a tragic incident in Sindh’s Ghotki district, a drone crash in the jurisdiction of Dad Leghari Police Station claimed the life of a local farmer and injured another. Authorities are investigating whether the drones were equipped with surveillance tools or posed direct threats to public safety.

The continued drone activity has raised serious concerns among national security agencies, who have termed the incursions a blatant violation of Pakistan’s airspace. Counter-drone protocols have been reinforced as part of a broader national security response.
