Indian Aggression Threatens Regional Stability, Says President Zardari in Meeting with Chinese Envoy

President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday warned that India’s recent aggressive posturing and irresponsible actions pose a grave threat to regional peace and stability, as he reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to fostering cooperation with China to safeguard shared strategic interests.

The President made these remarks during a meeting with the Ambassador of China to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong, at Aiwan-e-Sadr. The two sides discussed key bilateral matters, regional security, and the evolving situation between Pakistan and India following the recent Pahalgam incident.

Expressing deep concern over the Indian government’s belligerent rhetoric and destabilizing actions, President Zardari said such conduct undermines efforts to maintain peace in South Asia. “India’s provocations are not just a threat to Pakistan, but to the entire region’s stability,” he cautioned.

He lauded China’s consistent and principled support to Pakistan during testing times, describing it as a pillar of strength in an increasingly uncertain regional landscape. “We deeply value China’s unwavering solidarity with Pakistan, especially in times of adversity,” he added.

Ambassador Jiang reaffirmed the enduring nature of the Pakistan-China partnership, describing it as a time-tested friendship built on mutual trust and respect. He termed the two countries “iron brothers,” who have always stood shoulder to shoulder through every challenge.

The Chinese envoy thanked President Zardari for sharing Pakistan’s viewpoint and assured that Beijing will continue to stand by Islamabad in its efforts to promote peace and safeguard regional stability. “China fully supports Pakistan in its pursuit of a peaceful and stable South Asia, which remains a shared aspiration,” he stated.

The meeting underscored the strategic alignment between Pakistan and China on key regional issues and their mutual resolve to counter threats to peace through deeper diplomatic engagement and cooperation.
