Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar met with US Chargé d’Affaires to Pakistan, Ms. Nathalie Baker, to discuss bilateral relations and recent regional developments, the Foreign Office confirmed.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed the evolving geopolitical landscape and explored avenues for strengthening cooperation. Ishaq Dar reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding national interests while actively contributing to peace and stability in the region.
He also highlighted Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting regional stability and emphasised that Pakistan remains a responsible and proactive partner in addressing shared challenges.
Ms. Baker, in response, expressed the United States’ desire to see tensions in the region reduced and stressed Washington’s intent to maintain close engagement with Pakistan and other regional players amidst rapidly changing circumstances.
Both officials agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation and continue joint efforts aimed at ensuring regional peace, security, and development.
Dar Contacts Spanish FM, Discusses Bilateral and Regional Developments
In a separate diplomatic engagement, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a detailed conversation with Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares. The two leaders exchanged views on regional developments and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation.
Dar briefed his Spanish counterpart on India’s ongoing propaganda campaign, including attempts to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty, describing such moves as violations of international law. He also reiterated Pakistan’s willingness to support transparent investigations into recent incidents in the region.
Minister Albares appreciated Pakistan’s call for peaceful conflict resolution and welcomed the proposal for impartial investigations.
Both ministers affirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation at bilateral and multilateral forums and agreed to promote peace, rule of law, and partnership in the broader region.
