Awami National Party (ANP) Central President Aimal Wali Khan has strongly condemned India’s suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, terming it a shameful act and asserting that Pakistan will not allow any country to question its sovereignty.
Addressing the Senate, Aimal Wali Khan said that Pakistan has responded firmly by suspending the Simla Agreement, adding that the current situation demands unity among all national entities. He emphasized that political, religious, and regional leadership must come together to safeguard the country’s security.
“We categorically condemn this disgraceful action and theatrics by India,” he stated. “We are ready to play a constructive role in promoting peace and facilitating dialogue.”
The ANP leader further said that Pakistan desires cordial and friendly relations with all neighbouring countries, including India and Afghanistan. However, he warned that duplicity will not be tolerated. Questioning India’s policies, he asked, “If the Wagah border has been closed, why is the Kartarpur Corridor still open? Has India allowed Pakistani Muslims to visit Ajmer Sharif?”
Aimal Wali Khan reiterated that Pakistan stands for peace but will never compromise on national dignity and sovereignty.
