Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Friday said that Afghanistan will not allow its soil to be used for any malicious activities, adding that Pakistan also will not permit the use of its territory against Afghanistan.
He made these remarks while addressing a press conference in Kabul, where he said that both countries had agreed to resolve bilateral issues through dialogue and cooperation.
Dar stated that discussions were held to enhance trade with Afghanistan, noting that the implementation of the Track and Trace system could expedite Afghan transit goods. He added that both countries acknowledged the need to facilitate the movement of trade goods, and Pakistan would soon activate an IT system at the Torkham border to support this effort.
He further mentioned that Afghanistan had long proposed an insurance guarantee on transit goods, and emphasized the importance of exchanging trade delegations to boost bilateral commerce. “It is necessary to increase trade between Pakistan and Afghanistan,” he said.
Dar also revealed that four principled decisions were made during a meeting with the Afghan interim foreign minister regarding Afghan refugees. “Afghan refugees will be repatriated with dignity and respect,” he said, adding that both countries must work together for the region’s development, stability, and peace.
He reiterated that Afghanistan would not allow anyone to use its territory for wrongful activities and stressed that Pakistan would likewise ensure its land is not used against Afghanistan.
The Deputy Prime Minister concluded by acknowledging the generosity extended to Afghan citizens and said they are permitted to reclaim their personal assets.
