Islamabad – Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, emphasized the importance of the ongoing preparations for the UN Peacekeeping Ministerial Conference, highlighting the need for global cooperation to achieve sustainable peace. Speaking at the Third United Nations Peacekeeping Ministerial Preparatory Conference for 2025 in Islamabad, he warned that the spread of misinformation poses a significant threat to global peace.
In his address, Ishaq Dar underlined Pakistan’s significant contributions to UN peacekeeping missions, stating that Pakistan has sent troops to various missions and that its personnel have made tremendous sacrifices for global peace and stability. “Pakistanis have sacrificed their lives for international peace and stability,” he said.
Dar reiterated that achieving lasting peace requires collective efforts from all nations. “Sustainable peace can only be achieved when the global community works together,” he asserted, emphasizing Pakistan’s continued role in promoting peace worldwide.
The Foreign Minister also reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the United Nations Charter, emphasizing that a permanent resolution to the Kashmir issue is vital for regional and global stability. “A lasting solution to the Kashmir issue is essential for ensuring peace and stability in the region,” Dar noted.
This conference is part of preparations for the United Nations Peacekeeping Ministerial Conference, which will be held in Berlin from May 13 to 14. Foreign and defense ministers from around the world are expected to attend the event, where discussions will focus on strengthening and making UN peace missions more effective.
