The Balochistan National Party (BNP-Mengal) announced the conclusion of its 20-day-long sit-in at Lakpass in Mastung district, stating that the party will now transition towards a province-wide public awareness and mobilization campaign.
Speaking at the end of the sit-in, BNP chief Sardar Akhtar Mengal said the party would continue its peaceful protest through rallies and public meetings across different districts. “The sit-in has been concluded, but the campaign to raise public issues will continue,” he said.
According to Mengal, the first phase of the campaign will include public gatherings in Mastung, Kalat, Khuzdar, and Surab. In the second phase, similar events will be held in Turbat, Gwadar, and other areas of Makran, followed by a third phase covering Naseerabad, Jaffarabad, Dera Murad Jamali, and adjoining regions.
Mengal announced that the BNP’s central cabinet will meet in Quetta on April 18 to discuss and decide the next phase of the party’s political strategy. “We are committed to highlighting public grievances and seeking democratic and constitutional solutions,” he stated.
He added that the ongoing movement aims to strengthen democratic practices and underscore the importance of addressing public concerns through peaceful means. “Our intent is not to confront the state, but to ensure that governance reflects the aspirations of the people.”
