The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Karachi has arrested, while conducting operation in Lea Market area of the metropolitan city, a most wanted terrorist affiliated with the banned outfit Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
According to CTD Karachi officials, the operation was conducted in the Lea Market area near Pitcher Road following a tip-off about the presence of the TTP militant. During the raid, the suspect identified as Jameel Ahmed alias Qari Sahib was taken into custody. A hand grenade was also recovered from him.
CTD further revealed that a man named Hammad Ansari, associated with the banned outfit, had tasked the arrested terrorist via social media to record videos of sensitive locations. The videos were then sent to Ansari, who edited and uploaded them to social media platforms.
A case has been registered against the arrested terrorist at the CTD police station.
