Pakistan and UK Vow Stronger Security Alliance, Intensify Joint Campaign Against Terrorism and Organised Crime

The United Kingdom and Pakistan have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral security cooperation, with UK Security Minister Dan Jarvis undertaking his first official visit to Pakistan to deepen collaboration on counter-terrorism, regional stability, serious organised crime and the prevention of illegal migration.

During his visit, Minister Dan Jarvis held high-level meetings with Pakistan’s senior political, military and law-enforcement leadership, focusing on translating the longstanding partnership between the two countries into concrete operational outcomes. The discussions centred on strengthening security coordination, enhancing intelligence and information sharing, disrupting transnational criminal networks and building institutional capabilities to address evolving security challenges.

The UK Security Minister also held important discussions with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi. The meetings covered a wide range of shared priorities, including regional security, the evolving situation in Afghanistan, counter-terrorism cooperation and joint efforts to combat serious organised crime.

Particular emphasis was placed on strengthening practical cooperation to counter threats that transcend national borders. Both sides recognised the importance of coordinated action, timely intelligence exchange and enhanced law-enforcement collaboration to identify, disrupt and dismantle criminal and terrorist networks before they can pose a threat to either country.

The discussions also focused on tackling illegal migration and visa fraud, with both countries exploring ways to strengthen preventive measures, improve operational coordination and ensure that those exploiting immigration systems and facilitating organised criminal activities are effectively brought to justice.

Speaking during the visit, UK Security Minister Dan Jarvis underscored the importance of the UK-Pakistan partnership, stating that both countries face shared security threats and that closer cooperation is essential to confronting them effectively. He emphasised that terrorism, serious organised crime, illegal migration and visa fraud cannot be addressed through isolated efforts and require sustained collaboration with trusted international partners.

The Minister further stressed that his visit was aimed at transforming the strong bilateral relationship into tangible results through improved intelligence sharing, disruption of criminal networks and enhanced institutional capabilities to protect communities in both countries.

The visit marks an important step towards reinforcing the UK-Pakistan security partnership, reflecting the shared recognition that emerging transnational threats demand coordinated, intelligence-led and result-oriented responses.

Pakistan and the United Kingdom remain committed to expanding practical cooperation, strengthening institutional linkages and working together to address common security challenges. The renewed engagement underscores the importance of sustained bilateral coordination in promoting regional stability, combating terrorism and organised crime, and ensuring the safety and security of citizens in both countries.
