Two terrorists were eliminated during a police operation in Darra Hassan Zai area of Orakzai, while Station House Officer (SHO) Muhammad Younis and police constable Saleem sustained injuries in an exchange of fire.
According to District Police Officer (DPO) Orakzai Shaukat Ali, the operation was conducted within the jurisdiction of Mishti Police Station in Central Orakzai, where police personnel came under fire from the terrorists.
Police returned fire, eliminating two terrorists during the encounter. SHO Muhammad Younis and Constable Saleem were wounded in the exchange and shifted to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital for medical treatment.
The DPO said the two eliminated individuals belonged to the Qambar Khel tribe of Khyber district.
Police officials said the men had been harassing local residents by demanding money in the name of ushr, a form of Islamic agricultural levy. The operation was carried out against their activities in the area.
