A key jirga of tribal elders was held at the Governor Cottage in Parachinar to discuss the security situation in Kurram, public concerns and measures being taken by the government to maintain peace in the district.
The jirga was attended by the local Pakistan Army brigade commander, Deputy Commissioner Kurram, Additional Deputy Commissioner, commanding officer, SP Operations and relevant assistant commissioners, along with tribal elders and other local stakeholders.
Participants held detailed discussions on the prevailing law and order situation in Kurram, coordination between the local community and state institutions, public issues and measures required to strengthen peace and stability in the district.
Officials highlighted the importance of the tribal elders’ role in maintaining lasting peace, saying their cooperation remained particularly important in the prevailing circumstances. They stressed that unity, collective responsibility and sustained communication with the administration and security institutions were essential to prevent tensions from escalating and to support a stable environment.
The officials also discussed the need for continued cooperation between tribal communities and government institutions to address public grievances and facilitate measures aimed at restoring and maintaining normalcy.
The tribal elders expressed their commitment to supporting efforts for peace and stability in Kurram and assured the administration and security institutions of continued cooperation.
They also reiterated the importance of collective efforts and maintaining close coordination with the authorities to help address local issues and strengthen the security environment across the district.
