AUF Escalates the Fight: 68 Operations, 102 Taliban Personnel Killed Across Afghanistan

Armed resistance groups opposing the Taliban regime have reportedly intensified their operations across Afghanistan, with the Afghanistan United Front (AUF) claiming that its forces conducted 68 operations during September, resulting in 102 Taliban personnel killed and 48 wounded.  b

The reported figures point to a sustained campaign against Taliban military, security and intelligence structures, with resistance activity reportedly extending across several provinces. According to information attributed to the AUF and other resistance groups, recent operations have targeted Taliban checkpoints, vehicles, security positions and intelligence facilities, highlighting the continuing security challenges confronting the Taliban administration.

The casualty figures and operational claims are attributed to the respective resistance groups and have not been independently verified. The reported pattern of attacks indicates that armed opposition to the Taliban is no longer confined to isolated areas, with resistance groups claiming operations across different parts of Afghanistan.

The AUF, National Resistance Front (NRF) and National Independence Front (NIF) have all reported recent attacks against Taliban personnel and infrastructure. The reported operations have included attacks on security checkpoints, Taliban vehicles and intelligence-related facilities, with resistance groups portraying the incidents as part of a continuing campaign to challenge the Taliban’s military and security apparatus.

The geographic spread of these incidents has added another layer to Afghanistan’s already complex security environment.

According to the figures released by the Afghanistan United Front, 68 operations were conducted during September, in which 102 Taliban personnel were reportedly killed and 48 wounded. AUF has described the reported operations as part of its ongoing resistance campaign against the Taliban regime.

The group has claimed that its operations were directed at Taliban military, security and intelligence structures in different areas. Because access to many conflict-affected areas remains limited, the reported casualty figures cannot currently be independently confirmed.

The reported attacks have extended beyond individual Taliban personnel, with several incidents involving security checkpoints, vehicles and intelligence centres. The targeting of such infrastructure is particularly significant because these facilities form an important part of the Taliban’s security and intelligence network. Resistance groups have continued to claim attacks against these installations, indicating an effort to disrupt the operational capabilities of Taliban security structures and maintain pressure on the regime.
