Pakistan’s Security Forces conducted a successful Intelligence-Based Operation (IBO) in the Mir Ali area of North Waziristan, targeting terrorist elements affiliated with Fitna al-Khawarij, according to security sources.
The operation was launched on the basis of credible intelligence regarding the presence and movement of terrorist elements in the area. Security Forces employed a coordinated and intelligence-driven approach to effectively target the identified terrorist network and disrupt its operational infrastructure.
During the operation, three Fitna al-Khawarij terrorists were eliminated. Following the engagement, Security Forces carried out a comprehensive search and clearance of the targeted area. A substantial quantity of weapons and ammunition was recovered from the possession of the eliminated terrorists.
As part of the wider security operation, multiple terrorist hideouts and positions belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij in Mir Ali and adjoining areas were also destroyed. The destruction of these facilities has disrupted the terrorists’ established infrastructure and significantly constrained their ability to use the area for planning, coordinating and facilitating terrorist activities.
The operation demonstrates the continued effectiveness of intelligence-based counter-terrorism operations in identifying terrorist elements, locating their hideouts and dismantling their operational networks. Such actions are aimed at preventing terrorist groups from establishing safe havens and protecting the local population from acts of violence and intimidation.
