Pakistan’s Security Forces conducted a successful intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Tirah area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, targeting a suspected hideout of Fitna al-Khawarij terrorists involved in terrorist activities and posing a threat to the security of the area.
Acting on credible intelligence regarding the presence of terrorists at the location, Security Forces launched a carefully coordinated operation to neutralize the threat. During the operation, the identified terrorist hideout was effectively engaged with rocket launchers, resulting in the elimination of seven Fitna al-Khawarij terrorists, while several others were reportedly injured.
During the course of the operation, a motorcycle-borne suicide bomber attempted to carry out a terrorist attack and detonated himself. The incident was dealt with as part of the ongoing clearance operation, as Security Forces maintained a secure cordon around the compound to prevent any terrorist from escaping and to ensure the safety of personnel and the surrounding area.
Following the engagement, the compound was systematically cordoned off, searched and cleared by Security Forces. A large cache of weapons, ammunition and other military equipment was recovered from the hideout, further indicating the use of the location as a base for terrorist activities.
The successful operation underscores the continued effectiveness of intelligence-driven counter-terrorism efforts aimed at disrupting terrorist networks, denying them safe havens and preventing planned attacks against the state and its citizens.
Security Forces remain fully committed to eliminating the threat posed by terrorism and its facilitators. Operations against terrorist elements will continue, in accordance with the law, until the threat is comprehensively addressed.
