Pakistan’s security forces have successfully foiled an attempt by Afghan Taliban forces to infiltrate Pakistani territory in the Chaman sector along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border, according to security sources.
The sources said that Afghan forces launched an aggressive action in the Chaman border sector and attempted to advance towards Pakistani positions. Pakistani security forces responded immediately and effectively, thwarting the infiltration attempt and preventing the attackers from achieving their objective.
According to the security sources, multiple Afghan Taliban personnel were killed during the exchange of fire. The incident once again demonstrates the heightened security challenges along the Pakistan–Afghanistan frontier and the preparedness of Pakistani forces to respond swiftly to any threat to the country’s territorial integrity.
According to security sources, the Afghan side initiated provocative firing in the Chaman sector and attempted to carry out an incursion across the border. Pakistani forces responded with effective and forceful fire, targeting the positions from which the aggression was being carried out. The timely response disrupted the attackers’ advance and prevented the attempted infiltration from developing further.
Security sources said Pakistani forces maintained effective control of the situation and successfully frustrated the hostile operation. During the response, Pakistani forces employed quadcopters and mortar fire against positions being used by the Afghan Taliban. According to security sources, the targeted Afghan Taliban positions were destroyed or rendered ineffective as a result of the Pakistani response.
The operation was focused on neutralising the immediate threat and preventing hostile forces from using positions along the border to facilitate further aggression or infiltration into Pakistani territory. The effective use of surveillance and fire-support capabilities enabled Pakistani forces to respond rapidly to the developing threat and maintain security along the affected sector.
Security sources said that multiple Afghan Taliban personnel were killed during the operation. The casualties represent the outcome of the Pakistani forces’ immediate response to the cross-border aggression and their efforts to prevent the attempted infiltration. The security forces’ action ensured that the attackers were unable to advance into Pakistani territory or achieve their reported objective in the Chaman sector.
The attempted incursion was completely thwarted by Pakistani security forces. Pakistan has repeatedly made clear that its territorial sovereignty and national security are non-negotiable and that no armed force will be permitted to cross into Pakistani territory through aggression or infiltration.
The latest operation demonstrates the importance of constant vigilance along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border, particularly in sensitive sectors where hostile forces may attempt to exploit difficult terrain or gaps in border security.
Pakistani forces remain deployed in strength along vulnerable sections of the frontier and continue to monitor movements on the Afghan side.
