Pakistan’s security forces have conducted a major counter-terrorism operation in the vicinity of Ziarat, Quetta, targeting terrorist elements associated with the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), according to security sources.
The operation was launched on the basis of intelligence regarding the presence and activities of terrorists in the area. Security forces moved swiftly to contain the threat and prevent the targeted elements from carrying out further terrorist activity. According to security sources, more than 18 BLA and TTP terrorists were neutralized during the operation, delivering a significant blow to the terrorist networks operating in the region.
The identification process of those killed is currently underway. Authorities are working to establish their identities and determine their respective affiliations and operational roles. Following the engagement, security forces initiated a comprehensive search and clearance operation in the surrounding area to ensure that no remaining terrorist elements were present and that the area was secure.
The operation forms part of Pakistan’s continuing counter-terrorism efforts aimed at dismantling terrorist networks, disrupting their operational capabilities and preventing attacks against civilians and security personnel.
Security forces remain on heightened alert in the area and are maintaining close surveillance following the operation. Additional security measures have been put in place to prevent any attempt by hostile elements to regroup or exploit the situation.
