A jirga between a local unit commander and a 20-member delegation of elders from Sur Daag village was held in Spinwam tehsil of North Waziristan to discuss the prevailing security situation, law and order, and issues affecting local residents.
The elders briefed the authorities on matters related to maintaining peace in the area and highlighted various public concerns and basic needs of the community. They also discussed measures that could contribute to strengthening stability and improving coordination between local communities and the authorities.
A key demand raised during the jirga was the construction and improvement of the road connecting Sarwak Chowk with Sur Daag village. The elders were directed to submit a formal application so that the proposal could be examined through the relevant forums and considered for further action.
The authorities assured the elders that their concerns would be taken up with the relevant departments and that necessary measures would be considered to address legitimate public needs.
Such engagements provide a channel for local communities to raise security and development concerns directly with authorities, while also helping strengthen cooperation on maintaining peace in sensitive areas of North Waziristan.
