Security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Aka Khel area of Hajianun Kallay, Bara, Khyber, targeting Khawarij elements involved in violent activities and attacks against security forces.
According to sources, an exchange of fire took place during the operation, resulting in the deaths of four Khawarij, including a commander associated with the blockade of the Hayatabad Toll Plaza in Peshawar several months ago.
The deceased have been identified, according to the information provided by sources, as commander Khalid Umar Ghazi, Malik Arab Gul, Ariana, and Hanzala. Sources state that Khalid Umar Ghazi had led or participated in the blockade of the Hayatabad Toll Plaza in Peshawar several months ago. A video purportedly showing the incident was subsequently circulated by the Khawarij.
The involvement of a senior Khawarij commander in the incident makes his reported death particularly significant from a security perspective, as the individual was allegedly associated with operational activities in several sensitive areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to sources, Khalid Umar Ghazi was also involved in multiple attacks targeting security forces in Peshawar, Bara, and Tirah Maidan.
The operation in Hajianun Kallay, Aka Khel, Bara, was launched on the basis of intelligence regarding the presence and movement of Khawarij elements in the area. During the operation, an exchange of fire reportedly took place between security forces and the targeted Khawarij. The four individuals were subsequently reported killed.
