Security forces conducted intelligence-based operations against Fitna al-Khwarij in North Waziristan on August 15, eliminating several Khwarij, destroying their hideouts and recovering a large quantity of weapons and ammunition.
The operations were launched on the basis of intelligence reports tracking the movement and locations of Fitna al-Khwarij elements in the area. Security personnel maintained continuous surveillance of the suspected hideouts and movement routes before launching targeted strikes.
The Khwarij were identified with the assistance of quadcopters and subsequently engaged through precision fire. Several Khwarij were eliminated during the operations, while those who attempted to flee after being wounded were also targeted.
Weapons and a substantial quantity of ammunition were recovered from the destroyed hideouts, further indicating their use as bases for terrorist activity.
Security forces continued clearance operations in the area following the strikes to ensure that no remaining terrorists or threats were left behind.
The latest operations form part of the ongoing Operation 11 Garaj, under which security forces have intensified intelligence-led counterterrorism actions across North Waziristan.
Security forces have reiterated that operations will continue without interruption until terrorism is completely eradicated from the area and the last Khariji is eliminated.
