Security Forces have intensified intelligence-based operations against Fitna al-Khawarij across North Waziristan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, delivering a significant blow to Khawarij elements operating in the area.
During multiple intelligence-based operations conducted in the region, 62 Khawarij have so far been killed, while several others were injured. A number of Khawarij hideouts were also destroyed, and a substantial quantity of weapons and ammunition was recovered during the operations.
The ongoing operations, being conducted under Operation 11 Garaj, are aimed at dismantling Khawarij networks, disrupting their operational infrastructure and preventing them from using the rugged terrain of North Waziristan to plan or execute terrorist activities. According to operational details, security forces maintained continuous surveillance of Khawarij movement and suspected hideouts on the basis of actionable intelligence.
Modern surveillance capabilities, including quad-copters, were employed to monitor areas where Khawarij elements attempted to conceal themselves and evade detection. In one such engagement, Khawarij hiding beneath trees were identified through quad-copter surveillance and subsequently engaged with precision. Security forces also tracked injured Khawarij who attempted to escape from the area, preventing them from regrouping or relocating to other positions.
A particularly significant development during the ongoing operations was the elimination of four key Khawarij commanders. The removal of these commanders is expected to disrupt the group’s command structure and operational coordination in the area, further weakening its ability to organize attacks, mobilize personnel and maintain terrorist infrastructure. The successful targeting of senior Khawarij elements demonstrates the effectiveness of intelligence-driven operations and persistent surveillance in identifying key figures within terrorist networks.
With the latest operations, the total number of Khawarij killed during the ongoing security operations in North Waziristan has reached 62. Several other Khawarij have sustained injuries, while multiple hideouts and positions used by the group have been destroyed. Security forces have also recovered a large quantity of weapons and ammunition from the targeted locations, further disrupting the logistical and operational capabilities of the Khawarij.
