Security forces have intensified their counterterrorism operation in Bajaur, effectively targeting terrorist hideouts during an intelligence-based operation under the ongoing Operation 11 Garaj.
According to security sources, terrorist positions and hideouts were precisely engaged on the basis of intelligence regarding the presence of Fitna al-Khwarij elements in the area.
Quadcopters were employed during the initial phase of the operation to target identified positions. Following the aerial engagement, security forces launched a clearance operation in the area, employing tank and mortar fire against remaining terrorist positions and fortified hideouts.
The coordinated use of aerial surveillance, precision engagement and heavy fire during the clearance phase inflicted significant damage on terrorist infrastructure, with multiple Khwarij and their hideouts reported to have been eliminated or destroyed.
Security personnel also recovered weapons and ammunition from the targeted locations. The recoveries provided further indications of the operational preparations and capabilities of the terrorist elements operating in the area.
The clearance operation is continuing as security forces systematically search the surrounding area for any remaining terrorist elements, weapons caches or explosive material.
The latest action forms part of Operation 11 Garaj, under which security forces have been conducting intelligence-driven operations to dismantle terrorist networks and their infrastructure in Bajaur and other sensitive areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The use of coordinated aerial and ground capabilities highlights the increasing pressure being maintained on terrorist hideouts, particularly in difficult and mountainous terrain where terrorist groups have historically attempted to exploit the geography for concealment.
Security forces have reiterated that operations will continue until the terrorist threat is completely eliminated.
