A tribal elder was assassinated inside his home in Bajaur district as security forces continue to tighten the operational net around Fitna al-Khwarij under Operation 11 Garaj, with the latest attack targeting a prominent local tribal figure.
According to police, terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Khwarij opened indiscriminate fire on Malik Zahoor Ahmed, a tribal leader, in the Salarzai area of Bajaur. He was targeted inside his residence and succumbed to his injuries in the attack.
The incident comes amid intensified security operations against terrorist elements in the region. As pressure on terrorist networks increases, the latest attack has raised concerns over attempts by such elements to intimidate local communities and target individuals who have influence and standing among the tribes.
