Twelve terrorists belonging to the Indian proxy group Fitna al-Hindustan were neutralized during two intelligence based operations carried out by security forces in Balochistan under the ongoing Operation Radd-ul-Fitnah-3, the military said on Thursday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the successful operations were conducted on August 5 and 6 in the districts of Washuk and Mastung as part of the nationwide counterterrorism campaign aimed at dismantling externally sponsored terrorist networks.
The military’s media wing said the first operation was launched in Washuk after intelligence agencies tracked the movement of six terrorists affiliated with Fitna al-Hindustan. Security forces swiftly engaged the group, resulting in the elimination of all six terrorists following a precise and effective operation.
A second intelligence based operation was conducted the following day in Mastung, where troops engaged another group of terrorists in an intense exchange of fire. After the firefight, six more terrorists were neutralized, while a terrorist hideout used for planning and facilitating attacks was also destroyed.
Security forces recovered a cache of weapons, ammunition, explosives and communication equipment from the sites of both operations. The recovered material is expected to assist investigators in identifying facilitators, logistics channels and operational links of the network.
Follow-up sanitization operations remain underway in the surrounding areas to ensure that no terrorist escaped and to eliminate any remaining threats. Additional intelligence driven actions are also being carried out to dismantle support infrastructure associated with the group.
According to ISPR, the operations form part of Operation Radd-ul-Fitnah-3, being conducted under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam and the National Action Plan approved by the Federal Apex Committee. The campaign is aimed at eliminating terrorism sponsored and supported from outside Pakistan through coordinated action by security forces and law enforcement agencies.
The military reaffirmed that operations against Fitna al-Hindustan and other terrorist networks will continue without discrimination until externally backed terrorism is completely eradicated and lasting peace is restored across the country.
