Security forces and police successfully foiled a suicide attack on a police check post in the Manji Khel area of Tank district, eliminating two terrorists, including a suicide bomber, during a swift counter-operation, according to preliminary reports.
Initial information indicates that an explosives-laden vehicle attempted to ram the perimeter wall of the Manji Khel police check post. Alert security personnel responded immediately, preventing the attacker from reaching the intended target and averting what could have been a major terrorist attack.
Following the failed assault, an intense exchange of fire erupted between police personnel and armed terrorists accompanying the suicide bomber. During the ensuing operation, one terrorist and the suicide attacker were eliminated.
Security sources said the prompt response by police personnel prevented the attackers from breaching the check post, significantly reducing the potential impact of the assault. Reinforcements were rushed to the area, while security forces established a cordon and launched a search and clearance operation to ensure that no additional terrorists remained in the vicinity.
