A video circulating on social media has contradicted the Afghan Taliban’s repeated claim that no terrorist organizations are operating from Afghan territory, reinforcing Pakistan’s long-standing position that several banned groups continue to use Afghanistan as a base for activities targeting Pakistan.

Pakistan has repeatedly presented what it describes as credible and verifiable evidence showing that banned terrorist organizations, including Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, Daesh Khurasan, the Gul Bahadur Group, and other terrorist networks, maintain a presence inside Afghanistan and use its territory to plan, coordinate, and launch attacks against Pakistan. Islamabad has consistently urged the Afghan Taliban to ensure that Afghan soil is not used against any neighbouring country, particularly Pakistan.

The latest video has surfaced at a time when the Taliban government continues to insist that Afghan territory is neither being used against other countries nor serving as a safe haven for any terrorist group. According to security analysts, the footage directly undermines those assertions and adds to a growing body of evidence challenging the Taliban’s official narrative.

Pakistan has repeatedly shared what it calls irrefutable evidence with the Afghan authorities and relevant international forums, maintaining that Pakistan-focused terrorist groups continue to operate from sanctuaries inside Afghanistan before infiltrating across the border to carry out attacks.

Defence and security experts say the video provides further indication that the Taliban’s public claims are inconsistent with realities on the ground. They argue that continued denial of the presence of terrorist organizations risks misleading the international community and poses a serious threat to regional as well as global peace and stability.

The development also comes amid growing international concern over the terrorist threat emanating from Afghanistan. The United Nations Security Council has repeatedly called for coordinated and concrete measures against terrorist organizations operating from Afghan territory and stressed that Afghanistan must not become a safe haven for groups that threaten regional and international security.
