How Did an Intelligence-Based Operation in Bajaur Neutralize a High-Value Khwarji Commander?

On 28 June 2026, security forces conducted a successful intelligence-based operation (IBO) against a group of Khawarij in the Bajaur District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, close to the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

The operation was launched on the basis of credible intelligence regarding the presence of Khawarij belonging to the Indian proxy Jamaat-ul-Ahrar. During the ensuing engagement, security forces displayed exceptional professionalism and operational precision, resulting in the elimination of high-value Khwarji commander Khan Farosh alias Zabal, along with three other Khawarij. Several other Khawarij were also injured while attempting to flee the area.

The eliminated Khawarij were actively involved in planning and executing numerous acts of violence against security forces and innocent civilians. Their elimination constitutes a significant setback to the operational capability of the Indian proxy Jamaat-ul-Ahrar operating in the border region.

A sanitization operation is underway to ensure that no Khwarji remains in the area. Security forces remain steadfast in their resolve to eliminate the menace posed by Fitna al Khawarij and will continue intelligence-based operations against Khawarij, their facilitators, and abettors wherever they may be found.

The successful operation reaffirms the unwavering resolve, operational preparedness, and professionalism of Pakistan’s security forces in safeguarding the country’s sovereignty and ensuring lasting peace and stability. The sacrifices and commitment of the security forces, backed by the unwavering support of the people of Pakistan, will continue to thwart every attempt by hostile elements to undermine the nation’s security.

Pakistan’s security forces remain resolute in their mission to eradicate Fitna al Khawarij and ensure enduring peace and security across the country.
