Afghanistan Freedom Front Claims Rocket Attack on Taliban Position in Laghman Province

The Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF) has claimed responsibility for a coordinated rocket and small-arms attack targeting a Taliban outpost in the Alingar district of Laghman province.

In a statement published on social media platform X on Thursday, June 25, the group stated that the operation was carried out a day earlier in the village of Qolak, located in the Nurlam Baba valley of Alingar district. The AFF described the action as a targeted strike against a Taliban position in the area.

According to the claim issued by the group, the attack involved the use of rocket-propelled launchers alongside light weapons. The engagement reportedly continued for approximately 15 minutes before concluding. The group further asserted that its fighters did not suffer any casualties during the operation.

However, the Afghanistan Freedom Front did not provide independent verification of Taliban casualties or material damage resulting from the incident. The claims have not been confirmed by any independent source, and there has been no immediate response or official comment from the Taliban authorities regarding the reported attack.

The announcement follows a separate claim made by the same group a day earlier, in which the AFF stated it had conducted another operation targeting Taliban forces in Waigal district of Nuristan province. Details regarding casualties or operational impact from that incident also remain unverified.

The situation underscores the continued volatility in parts of Afghanistan, where competing claims of engagements between armed groups and governing authorities are frequently reported through social media channels. Analysts note that such claims often require independent verification before any definitive conclusions can be drawn regarding their scale, impact, or accuracy.

At this stage, neither the reported Alingar nor Nuristan incidents have been independently confirmed, and further information from official sources is awaited.
