MIRAN SHAH: Security forces neutralized two terrorists linked to the banned TTP’s Ittehad-e-Mujahideen faction during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Miran Shah area of North Waziristan district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to security sources.

The operation was carried out after security agencies received intelligence regarding the presence of terrorist elements in the area. Acting on the information, security forces launched a targeted raid, leading to an exchange of fire with the terrorists.

Security sources said two Khwarij affiliated with the Ittehad-e-Mujahideen faction of the banned TTP were neutralized during the operation.

Officials described the operation as part of ongoing efforts aimed at dismantling terrorist networks and preventing attacks against security forces and civilians in the region.

Weapons, ammunition and other material were reportedly recovered from the terrorists. The recovered items are being examined as part of the ongoing investigation into the group’s activities and possible links to other terrorist incidents in the area.

A sanitization operation was launched following the engagement to ensure that no additional terrorist elements remained in the vicinity.

North Waziristan has remained a key focus of counter-terrorism operations due to attempts by TTP-linked groups and other terrorist networks to re-establish operational footholds in the district. Security forces have conducted a series of intelligence-based operations in recent months targeting terrorist hideouts, facilitators, and logistical support structures.

Officials reiterated that operations against terrorist organizations would continue until all such elements are eliminated and their ability to threaten peace and security is dismantled.
