Police engaged in a gun battle with members of a banned terrorist outfit led by commander Armani Wazir in the Sera Dargah area of Lakki Marwat, according to security sources.

Initial reports indicate that the terrorists came under pressure during the exchange of fire and were forced to flee the area along with their associates. No casualties were immediately reported, and authorities have yet to release an official assessment of losses on either side.

Security officials said police personnel responded promptly after receiving information about the presence of armed terrorists in the area. A search and clearance operation was subsequently launched to prevent the group’s movement and maintain law and order.

Police remain deployed in Sera Dargah and surrounding localities, where operations are continuing to ensure peace and prevent the return of terrorist elements. Additional security measures have reportedly been put in place, including patrols and monitoring of potential escape routes.

The incident comes amid ongoing efforts by security forces across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to disrupt terrorist networks and deny them freedom of movement. Authorities have urged residents to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and report any suspicious activity.

Further details are expected as the situation develops and officials complete their assessment of the operation.
