Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan (South) successfully thwarted a major terror plot during an operation in Dalbandin, recovering approximately 300 kilograms of explosive material and multiple improvised explosive devices (IEDs) from an abandoned Afghan settlement, according to security sources.

Officials said the operation was conducted on the basis of credible intelligence regarding the presence of terrorist-linked materials in the area. Acting swiftly on the information, FC personnel launched a targeted operation and secured the site before the explosives could be moved or employed in terrorist activities.

During the search, security forces recovered around 300 kilograms of explosive material along with several ready-to-use IEDs. Preliminary assessments indicate that the recovered cache was intended for large-scale terrorist activities targeting security forces, public infrastructure, or civilian populations.

Security officials described the recovery as a significant success, stating that the operation prevented a potentially devastating terrorist attack and dealt a major blow to hostile networks operating in the region.

The recovered explosives have been taken into custody for forensic examination, while further investigations are underway to identify the individuals and networks responsible for storing the material at the location.

Following the operation, FC personnel carried out extensive clearance and search activities in surrounding areas to ensure no additional explosives, weapons, or terrorist hideouts remained concealed nearby. Security measures have also been strengthened across sensitive locations in the district.

The latest recovery highlights continuing efforts by security forces to dismantle terrorist infrastructure and prevent attacks before they can be executed.

The operation comes amid a series of successful intelligence-based actions by FC Balochistan (South) in the Dalbandin region.

In an earlier operation in the Gwak Mand area, security forces recovered a large cache of arms, ammunition, and explosives after acting on intelligence regarding planned terrorist activities. Officials said the timely action disrupted hostile plans and prevented potential attacks aimed at undermining peace and security in the province.

Similarly, in the Girdi Jungle area of Dalbandin, security forces conducted a major intelligence-based operation that resulted in the recovery of 11 shoulder-fired missiles, 10 IEDs, five RPG-7 launchers, and five mortar shells. Authorities described the seizure as evidence of the scale of terrorist planning in the region and credited proactive intelligence gathering for preventing potentially catastrophic attacks.

Security officials have repeatedly emphasized that terrorist networks continue attempting to exploit remote areas of Balochistan for the storage and movement of weapons, explosives, and other logistical support. However, they noted that sustained intelligence-based operations have significantly disrupted such activities.

FC Balochistan (South) reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining peace and stability across the province, stating that intelligence-driven operations against terrorist elements and their facilitators will continue.

Authorities said all available resources are being utilized to eliminate terrorist threats and ensure the safety and security of local communities.
