Security forces eliminated one terrorist and injured three others during a fierce exchange of fire in the Shah Alam village area of Tank district, according to local sources.

Sources said the clash erupted when security forces engaged a group of terrorists in the area, triggering an intense gun battle. During the exchange of fire, one terrorist was neutralized, while three of his accomplices sustained injuries.

Following the operation, security personnel recovered weapons, a quantity of explosive material and a motorcycle from the possession of the eliminated terrorist.

Security sources said a search and clearance operation is continuing in the area to track down the injured and fleeing terrorists. Troops have further tightened the cordon around the locality to prevent any escape and to ensure the complete elimination of terrorist elements.

The latest action is part of ongoing counterterrorism efforts in southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where security forces have intensified intelligence-based operations against terrorist networks seeking to destabilize the region.

No casualties among security forces were immediately reported, while the search operation remains underway.
